FAT32 Boot Disk

Here is a Win95B boot disk download with a generic CD-ROM driver. This should provide real mode CD-ROM support for most IDE CD-ROMs. This bootdisk can be used when formatting and re-installing Win95B and later (including Win98 and WinME) and provides FAT32 support.

To use this, download the win95b_bd.exe to a folder on your hard drive. Then quick format a floppy disk. Finally, run the win95b_bd.exe to extract the files to the A: drive. When done, I suggest that you immediately test your new bootdisk to make sure it works properly and can read a CD.

   win95bd.exe.   File size approximately 807kb.

Or download the zip file and use winzip to unzip to a floppy disk...
win95b_bd.zip.   File size approximately 778kb.

FAT16 Boot Disk

For a MS-DOS 6.22 boot disk download with a generic CD-ROM driver, this should provide real mode CD-ROM support for most IDE CD-ROMs. This bootdisk can be used when formatting and re-installing MS-DOS 6.22, Win95, and Win95A and only provides FAT16 support. If you want FAT32 support get the Win95B bootdisk download.

To use this, download the dos_bd.exe to a folder on your hard drive. Then quick format a floppy disk. Finally, run the dos_bd.exe to extract the files to the A: drive. When done, I suggest that you immediately test your new bootdisk to make sure it works properly and can read a CD.

   dosbd.exe.   File size approximately 970kb.
